Chronology of 2010 major politics related events

January 1 - Earlier announced two times increase of electricity tariffs comes into force.

January 11 - Ismail Isakov is sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment. On 12 February the Supreme Court (second instance) will leave the decision of the Garrison court without a change.

February 24 - in Naryn meeting is being held against the tariff increase on electricity and heating.

March 17 - Opposition holds the "People's Kurultai".

March 23 - President Bakiyev holds "Kurultai of Consent".

April 6 - in connection with the arrest of an opposition leader Sherniyazov in Talas massive protests of his supporters, which led to clashes between police and ended with the capture of the administration building and police department, have begun.

April 7 - the mass protests in Bishkek against the arrests of opposition leaders, which led to the seizure of Government House and other government bodies and ultimately to the change of government

April 8 - first decree of the new government announced the dissolution of Parliament and the entrusting of all powers to the Interim government

April 13 - Interim Government dissolved the Constitutional Court

April 15 - Kurmanbek Bakiyev on a plane provided by Kazakhstan has left Kyrgyzstan

April 16 – To Interim government comes a fax from Bakiev in which he declares his voluntary resignation from the presidency

April 19 - the clash between the villagers of Mayevka (near Bishkek) and group of land squatters Evening and night events escalate into riots and looting of several houses in the village where the victims were mostly residents of Turkish nationality

May 19 - clash in the town of Jalal-Abad between groups of protesters from Suzak region and supporters of Kadyrjan Batyrov, leader of the Uzbek community of the city. By the evening city has curfew.

May 19 - Interim government signed a decree on the appointment of Rosa Otunbayeva as Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic during the transition period (until end 2011)

May 20 - border between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan is open. It was closed by decision of the Government of Kazakhstan on April 6

May 20 - Interim government decided to nationalize the TV "Pyramid" and "Channel 5"

June 11 - in Osh began ethnic clashes quickly spread to other cities and regions of the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan. The clashes turned into ethnical fighting between Kyrgyz and Uzbeks, (according to unofficial data) about two thousand people were killed. Some areas and towns entered state of emergency.

June 27 - a new constitution adoption, law on the transitional provisions of new constitution and the adoption of Rosa Otunbayeva as President of the transitional period. Referendum was featured with voters having only two options for or against all three questions. About 70% of voters participated in the referendum and more than 90% favored "yes" to questions.

3 July - Inauguration of Rosa Otunbayeva as President of the transitional period

July 12 - Deputy Chairman of the Provisional Government Tekebayev resigned in connection with preparations for parliamentary elections. Another Deputy - Temir Sariev said of the resignation.

July 12 - "Electric stations" signed a contract for the sale-purchase of electricity with five Kazakh companies: TOO Temirzholenergo ", LLP "energy flows", LLP "Ontustik Zharyk, LLP HES-Energo Almaty, Inc. "Active Energotrade" volume 1.8 billion kWh and costs 1,45 som

July 27 - Bishkek hosts international donor conference on the situation in Kyrgyzstan

August 10 - the announcement of the parliamentary election scheduled for October 10, 2010
